The spirit takes Scrooge back to his miserable schooldays. He sees his sister, Fan.“She had a large heart,” said the Ghost.
“Yes, she had,” cried Scrooge. “You’re right.”
“She died a young woman,” said the Ghost, “but had, I think, children.”
“One child,” said Scrooge.
